The sea contains a variety of unique races, though none are quite as unfortunate as the Locathah. The Locathah are bipedal fish that have wide, toothy smiles. Though they are capable of breathing air, they need to frequently submerge themselves in water to keep from suffocating.
Locathah have a long history of enslavement by other races. They have been seen as the doormat of the subaquatic races because of their average abilities and more gentle disposition. Most Locathah are now free and live together in hunter-gatherer communities.
While Locathah speak Aquan, most of their names come from things they find at the bottom of the sea, or what they overhear from sailors. While it may sound different or have its own word in Aquan, most names are directly translated into common when Locathah speak with common speakers.
Good Locathah Names
Locathah name their children and themselves after what they know. After the years of enslavement they endured, they found that Aquan names bring bad memories of these times, and so they began naming their children after the things found in shipwrecks on the seafloor. This nautical tradition has only strengthened as they have had more contact with land-dwelling humanoids.
