Zombies are slow undead creatures magically animated from a corpse who lack any real intelligence, although they are known to follow very simple orders. They differ from animated skeletons, however, as they still have most of the flesh on them.

Sometimes a zombie can retain its intelligence and memories, attaining a status of a so-called zombie lord, an undead creature that can move faster, employ simple strategies at the very least, and be an overall much greater threat on the battlefield.

Certain zombies follow orders from powerful individuals, gaining reputation by association, whose orders always offer opportunity to make their names known, names such as Dasher, Walker, Crumbler, Oozer, Screaker, and Slitherer.

Good Zombie Names

Zombies are usually given names by their owners, if nothing else to more easily be identified and ordered around, something that even the zombie often appreciates as well, for it serves to clear any potential confusion on who needs to do what.

These animated corpses are slow movers and can only understand the simplest of orders. Usually magically brought back to life by a powerful individual, they serve as guards and meat shields in times of trouble. By working for someone else, the zombies often get named by those responsible for bringing them back to life and as such can now enjoy a certain reputation, albeit that’s not something they have the capacity to care about themselves. Think about how the character was created and by whom, what is their purpose, what was the occasion on which they got their name, do they have any goals of their own, and create a name worthy of a memorable zombie their deeds will make them to be.
