Zombies are slow undead creatures magically animated from a corpse who lack any real intelligence, although they are known to follow very simple orders. They differ from animated skeletons, however, as they still have most of the flesh on them.
Sometimes a zombie can retain its intelligence and memories, attaining a status of a so-called zombie lord, an undead creature that can move faster, employ simple strategies at the very least, and be an overall much greater threat on the battlefield.
Certain zombies follow orders from powerful individuals, gaining reputation by association, whose orders always offer opportunity to make their names known, names such as Dasher, Walker, Crumbler, Oozer, Screaker, and Slitherer.
Good Zombie Names
Zombies are usually given names by their owners, if nothing else to more easily be identified and ordered around, something that even the zombie often appreciates as well, for it serves to clear any potential confusion on who needs to do what.
He had one job and one job only, and it was to find a certain item and bring it back to his master. After more than one thing went wrong as he went along, he now finds himself lost, searching for a way back like a mindless zombie he is.
Living in a hidden cave along with his warlock master, his only job is to fetch and bring new volunteers from the prison cell. For some reason he grunts and sighs as he walks, and some of those sounds seem as if he was coughing.
No one knows if it’s a habit from past life or something he caught along the way but he always seems to be eating something, whether it’s real food, dirt, a rock, or just a random item found on the road.
He can follow simple orders, and he proved that many times over, but for some reason he still tries to follow the master if taskless at the time despite being told to stop and go wait for the next order somewhere else.
Funny Zombie Names
There are many reasons why one would want to add a bit of humor to whatever they are doing, and having a funny name for a Zombie certainly adds more entertainment to the table.
Every move he makes, his knees keep clicking. Click, click, click. You know when he’s moving, what direction he’s taking, and how slow he’s going. As if he was a not-so-bright child, he keeps trying to ambush others by playing but the sounds keep betraying his dedication to surprise them.
He can’t speak but everyone who knows him feels as if he could, and some would even swear they can hear him talk. As if that wasn’t enough, all he does is moan and groan as seemingly anything that needs to be done is met by a sigh of clear despair.
These animated corpses are slow movers and can only understand the simplest of orders. Usually magically brought back to life by a powerful individual, they serve as guards and meat shields in times of trouble. By working for someone else, the zombies often get named by those responsible for bringing them back to life and as such can now enjoy a certain reputation, albeit that’s not something they have the capacity to care about themselves. Think about how the character was created and by whom, what is their purpose, what was the occasion on which they got their name, do they have any goals of their own, and create a name worthy of a memorable zombie their deeds will make them to be.
